Education Solicits for Substitute Teachers

Aug. 2, 2008 – The Virgin Islands Department of Education is actively accepting applications for persons interested in becoming substitute teachers. Retired educators and other interested persons are encouraged to apply to become a part of the department's skilled team of educators, according to a press release from the DOE.
"As the Department continues its recruitment of highly qualified persons to fill vacancies in a number of areas, there also remains a need to recruit substitute teachers toward maintaining a full compliment of educators that may need to be assigned on an as-needs basis," said Education Human Resources Director Alscess Lewis-Brown.
"If you are a dedicated and nurturing individual who possesses a minimum of a bachelor's degree in education or in a related or specialized field, give our offices a call at 774-0100 on St. Thomas or 772-3878 on St. Croix," said Lewis-Brown.
