Two Constitutional Convention Committee Meetings Canceled

July 18, 2008 — Constitutional Convention committee meetings scheduled for Friday and Saturday evening have been canceled but will be rescheduled, according to the Convention's secretary.
Friday's meeting of the Taxation, Finance and Commerce Committee, chaired by Delegate Thomas K. Moore, was canceled because committee members "did not have everything ready for the meeting," Delegate Gerard Emanuel said Friday evening. The committee had scheduling conflicts with a few of its presenters, he explained.
Saturday's meeting of the Economic Development, Labor, Energy and Technology Committee could not get together enough members to make up a quorum, Emanuel said.
The convention has until the beginning of October to put together a final document.
