July 9, 2008 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1-3 p.m., on Sunday, July 13. This Sunday we will feature music by Dr. John, Pete Francis, Rhonda Vincent, the Shirelles, the Everly Brothers, Johnny Clegg and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "City That Care Forgot," the latest release from Dr. John. He gets help on this CD from Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, Terence Blanchard, Ani di Franco and others. Dr. John pays tribute to his beloved New Orleans with this new release.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Iron Sea and the Cavalry" from singer-songwriter Pete Francis, who is presently touring and playing prestigious venues such as the House of Blues in support of this release.
We play new music from the Steeldrivers, Amos Lee, Rhonda Vincent, Jim Lauderdale and more.
We also play music from Elvin Bishop, the Shirelles, Lurrie Bell, the Everly Brothers, Louis Prima and more.
We celebrate the 95th birthday of the amazing Pinetop Perkins and also celebrate the birthdays of Roger McGuinn and African artist Johnny Clegg.

We give away a copy of the new CD release from Indie Spotlight artist Pete Francis, a CD from instrumental virtuosos Chris Thile and Mike Marshall, a CD single from Kathleen Edwards and a CD sampler from the Drive-By Truckers.
