Mango Tango Gallery Will Exhibit Sea-Related Art

July 9, 2008 – Mango Tango Seaside Gallery in Yacht Haven Grande Marina will present the Art Ahoy Show beginning with an opening reception that will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m., on Friday, July 11. The exhibit features works about the legends, mythology and realities of the sea. Gallery goers are encouraged to add to the ambience of the evening by donning costumes.
The artists work in photography, cartoons, pen and ink, watercolors, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, digital prints, ceramic sculpture and woodcut sculpture.
Cartoonist and musician Smokey Pratt says that he and guitarist John Brittain look forward to playing for the costumed gallery goers with their children. The evening's play list includes Buffet's "The Pirate Looks at Forty," Lovette's "If I had a Boat," and Tom Waits' "We Sail Tonight for Singapore." There will also be prizes for dancers and free gifts for all visitors in costumes. Light refreshments will be served at the champagne reception.
The show continues for one month. For more information, call 715-2789.
