What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

July 2, 2008 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1-3 p.m., on Sunday, July 6. This Sunday we will feature music by Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Blues Anatomy, Shelby Lynne, Don McLean, Louis Armstrong, Jefferson Airplane and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Momofuku," the latest release from Elvis Costello and the Imposters. The ever-eclectic Elvis Costello has released all types of CDs in recent years including some that have elements of jazz and classical music. With this new release, we get back to the rocking side of Elvis with this critically well-received disc.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Rediscovering Lonnie Johnson" by Blues Anatomy. This talented blues group pays tribute to a talented blues artist, who is not a household name but should be, Lonnie Johnson.
We play new music from the Blind Boys of Alabama, Kelly Richey, Cassandra Wilson, James Hunter and more.
We also play music from Shelby Lynne, Jefferson Airplane, Ramblin Jack Elliot, Don McLean and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of Nanci Griffith, rock pioneer Bill Haley and Gene Chandler. We also remember former Byrd Skip Battin, cowboy singer Roy Rogers and Louis Armstrong, all of whom passed away on this date.
We include music from Ruthie Foster, who will be appearing at Tillett Gardens on Dec. 3, as part of this year's Arts Alive series.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
