Education Solicits RFPs for Summer Maintenance Projects

June 28, 2008 – The Department of Education is requesting proposals for Phase 2 of the Summer Maintenance projects for all the schools in the St. Thomas-St. John and St. Croix Districts. The intent of this is to have interested individuals, partnerships and entities specifically address the services required and provide the department with a well-considered proposal for those services, according to Education Commissioner La Verne Terry.
A pre-proposal conference for persons interested in providing janitorial, extermination, fire extinguisher and landscaping services is scheduled for the St. Thomas-St. John District at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, July 8, at the Curriculum Center located in Anna's Retreat.
The deadline to submit proposals is 2 p.m., Monday, July 14. Packages received will be stamped with the time and date immediately upon receipt, then opened and evaluated based on the criteria outlined. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered, but the department will keep them unitl after an award is made and then return them to the disqualified candidates.
