Dear Source:
The Article about the drivers license is great, we need to get the BMV updated with the latest equipment and comply with the federal mandates.
I still have a questions, why is it that in many states in the U.S. they do not accept the Virgin Islands Drivers License; for example if you move to Georgia and try to turn in your Virgin Islands drivers license for Georgia, they say they do not accept it and you have to take the written and road test all over again, why is this the case?
Another question is, how come the Virgin Islands do not issue Commercial Drivers license? If you come from another state and trade in your commercial drivers license to the BMV, they give you a heavy equipment drivers license. If you leave the Virgin Islands and return back to the states, they do not accept the heavy equipment drivers license. The state will make you take the written and drivers test over again; this can cost the driver hundreds of dollars.
If we can come in compliance with the Federal ID Card mandate then we need to issue Commercial Drivers License.
