Mass of Resurrection Celebrated for Rev. Henrique Joseph Schulterbrandt

June 20, 2008 – A concelebrated Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated for Rev. Henrique Schulterbrandt, C.Ss.R at 10 a.m., on Monday, June 23, at St. Patrick's Church, Frederiksted, St. Croix. Rev. Schulterbrandt passed away peacefully at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital on Monday, June 16. He was a professed member of the Redemptorist Religious Order for 49 years (39 years as a redemptorist religious brother known as "Br. DeMontfort" or "Br. Dee") and had been ministering as a priest for the past 14years. He graciously served the people of God in parishes in Baltimore, Md., Saratoga Springs, N.Y., East Harlem, N.Y., and on the islands of St. Thomas, St. Croix, and the Commonwealth of Dominica and St. Lucia.
Fr. Henrique, as he is better known, was serving the people of St. Patrick's Parish in Frederiksted, when the Good Lord called him home to eternal life!
A viewing of his body will be held from 6-9 p.m. and a Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m., on Sunday, June 22, at St. Patrick's Church, Frederiksted. A second viewing will be held from 9-10:30 a.m., on Monday, June 23, immediately followed by the Mass of Resurrection. Interment will be at St. Patrick Church Cemetery.
He was well loved and is survived by many family members: Yvette McBean, Agatha Joseph, Joyce Fabian, Olivia D. Bryant, Diana Jacobs, Beryl L. Sebastien, Alphonse J. Domingo Jr., George Lewis, Leroy Jacobs, Valentino I. McBean, Ronald M. Joseph Sr.; other relatives, friends, Redemptorist confreres, religious sisters, diocesan clergy and beloved parishioners.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Fr. Henrique to St. Patrick School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 547, Frederiksted, St.Croix.
