Workshop on Bats Wednesday Afternoon at Botanical Garden

May 12, 2008 — Bats are always out and flying at dusk. Besides keeping the territory's mosquito population under control, they help with pollination of night-blooming plants.
Come out to St. George Village Botanical Garden from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday to learn more during this month's presentation of the garden's Grow and Learn series.
William Coles, the territorial Fish and Wildlife chief of environmental education and endangered species, will provide insight into the only known flying mammal and help people appreciate their relationship with plants.
There is a small fee for the Grow and Learn workshops. Reservations are preferred but not required; to sign up, please call 692-2874. Pay at the visitors' center at the Botanical Garden on Wednesday. Participants who are not members of the garden are encouraged to join by signing up at or before the event.
