Landmarks Society Presents 'Listen & Learn' Youth Program

The St. Croix Landmarks Society (SCLS) will host the final Listen & Learn youth outreach program of the season at Island Center at 10 a.m., on Friday, April 11. The free, hour-long, educational workshop features two leading classical musicians based out of New York City: violinist Philip Payton and cellist David Gotay.
SCLS hosts a six-month Candlelight Concert Series every year at the Whim Museum in which internationally acclaimed musicians perform acoustic classical compositions in the Whim Great House.
The workshops introduce students to new musical instruments, musical styles, musical composers and compositions. The performing musicians share their experiences in performing in orchestras, symphonies, operas, and in solo concerts around the world. Student transportation to and from the performances is provided by the Landmarks Society; teachers can make reservations by calling 772-0598.
