It's the Safety! More cooperation between the Tourism Dept and the Police Dept is sure to be appreciated. Downtown Christiansted should be safe at night for tourists to wander around until the last bar closes and regular and substantial foot patrols by the VI police Department would make many feel better. St Croix is the most beautiful island in the Northern Caribbean and the people who work in the stores and the restaurants are among the most polite and friendly. If safety for visitors and residents could be ensured, and it became well known, you couldn't keep the tourism industry from booming!
