Coach Paradise: Don't Look Back at Back Pain

Dear Coach Paradise,
I have been incapacitated by really bad back pain. This has messed up my work life just as it was getting going. Since I have been studying law of attraction, I would like to stay optimistic and focus on recovery. What can I do to keep on this track? It's hard not to get depressed and pessimistic. I need all the help I can get.
Signed,
Derailed by Illness
Dear Derailed,
Best wishes for a speedy return to your natural state of health and well-being. Physical pain is a real wakeup call. Temporary disability sure makes you think about being healthy. People then fall anywhere along a continuum from, "Why me" or "Things never work anyway" to "What's the lesson?" "What opportunities are hear for me in this need for healing?"
Where are you? Your answer to this contains the seeds of your future.
— How are you choosing to look at what is going on in your life?
— Are you open to exploring resources for health, growth and happiness?
— Are you willing to shift your attention to your natural state of health and well-being when you notice it's not there?
Your answers to the above questions and your commitment to practicing is key.
If you are able to look at what is going on as a chance to really amp up your vibration and get aligned with health and moving towards health, you will recover sooner and more completely. From this place you will be guided to your best move toward health and well-being. You don't have to figure out how. You just need to be open to opportunities for healing — from the inside out and the outside in.
A simple exercise you can do while propped amidst pillows or anywhere. It is called the "What if Up Game." Instead of going down the worst-case scenario road and piling bad on worst and horrible, this game shifts our attention back to what we would really like to see happening in our lives and into how great that feels. Just to give you an example and to get you going: "What if I take such good care of myself and focused on getting and staying healthy that I surprised everyone by being pain-free and mobile within a couple of weeks?" "What if I learn so much from this experience that it really spurs me to become an ayeurvedic chef and I discover my perfect calling and a wonderful life path?"
Notice your energy shift. That's the point. For you to feel as good as possible will promote your return to health in the easiest and most relaxed manner. and in the healthiest and most positive way possible.
To your health and well-being,
Coach Paradise
