School Will End V.I. History Month with Musical Performances

March 26, 2008 – Ricardo Richards Elementary School will culminate its month-long observance of Virgin Islands History Month with several performances by school musical groups. The theme for this year's observance is "United in Culture, Heritage and Tradition."
Students, faculty and staff will dress in madras clothing and be entertained from 11:15 a.m. to 1:10 p.m., on Thursday, March 27, by the St. Croix Educational Complex Quelbe Band, the Ricardo Richards School Quadrille Dancers and the Eulalie Rivera Elementary School Banjo Players, according to Principal Colleen Williams of Ricardo Richards School.
In the grand finale on Friday, March 28, an assembly program from 11:15 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. will feature cultural demonstrations and performances by the Ricardo Richards Elementary School Pan Connection Steel Orchestra, and calypso and quadrille dancers. Students will also be treated to a petting zoo throughout the school day.
