Brief: Buried Body Found at Bovoni Housing Community

Dec. 3, 2007 — Police discovered the buried body of a black male Tuesday while searching an area of the Bovoni Housing community for marijuana plants and stray dogs.
The Special Operations Unit of the V.I. Police Department noticed a foul odor in an area near Building D of the housing community, which led to the unearthing of the body.
No official cause of death had been determined as of publication. The body was too decomposed for authorities to make an immediate determination, Police Commissioner James McCall said Tuesday night.
The official cause and approximate time of death will be determined by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and are asking for anyone with information to please call 715-5535 or 911.
