Nov. 21, 2007 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25. This Sunday we will feature music by Marc Cohn, Jennifer Daniels, Jerry Portnoy, Fenton Robinson, Kacey Cubero, Steve Simon and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Join the Parade," the new release from Marc Cohn. If you like great songwriting, then you will love Cohn's new CD. He takes his time between releases and this is only his third CD, but the wait was worth it.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Summer Filled Sky" by a talented young performer, Jennifer Daniels, who has a nice mix of folk and pop in her songs.
We play new music from Levon Helm, Diana Brathwaite and Chris Whiteley, Bob Weir, Paul Reddick and more.
We also include music from the Band, Jerry Jeff Walker, Steve Goodman and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of folk artist Thea Gilmore, blues harmonica player Jerry Portnoy and folk singer Bill Morrissey. We also remember Bill Bojangles Robinson, Nick Drake and blues artist Fenton Robinson on the anniversary of their deaths.
We also play music from blues and gospel artist Diunna Greenleaf, who will be performing at the St. John Christmas Festival on Dec. 2, and music from Steve Simon, who performs at the festival on Dec. 1. We also include music from George Benson, who will be appearing at the Reichhold Center on Nov. 29. We play music from Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats, who are touring through the Virgin Islands. We also play music from Kacey Cubero, who is in the midst of her V.I. tour playing at various venues.
We give away a copy of the new release from John Fogerty and a new release from folk instrumentalists Daniel and Amy Carwile. We also give away the new release from Canadian roots and blues artist Colin Linden.
