I cannot believe what I am reading from my people. I will be the first to admit that I do not know Dr. Spampinato and I do not know what affect she would have on the Virgin Islands Educational System. As a product of the Virgin Islands Public School system, and as a person that have children in this system, I take this issue very seriously.
Yes, Dr. Spampinato talks a good game, and it seems like she has suck many Virgin Islanders in with her good talk. But lets look at the facts! She is being called a school system reformer, but do not have one school system with positive things to say about her leadership. Even her people that came to testify for her had to admit that in the St. Louis school system, test scores went down under her watch. I guess this is acceptable for you.
I have read many things saying its because she is white. This doesn't have anything to do with race, but to do with what is right. I took the time over the weekend and dedicated myself to this issue. I have ready the audit reports, and I have research school systems that Dr. Spampinato claim to have reform.
The first thing that made me suspicious is the fact that she claims to not know of Alverez and Marsal. This is a bold face lie since she was name the Chief Academic Officer for Alverez and Marsal in the St. Louis School System. Now, Alverez and Marsal is the Virgin Islands third party Fiduciary. That should raise a major red flag with the Virgin Island people. This also left the question to be asked. How much of this does the governor knows, and he is not telling the truth.
We the people of he Virgin Islands have been taken advantage of for too long, and our kids…MY Kids…is too important to let this go by.
Now many of her supporters saying she is not been given a fair chance because she is white, and these are the first to claim someone use the race card when the roles are reverse. Is this hypocritical or what?
To her supporters, would you hire this lady to run the most important division of your company, when:
1. She cannot show you where she was successful performing her duties.
2. Would not disclose anything about her last 2 attempts of performing the job that you want to hire her to do.
3. All you have to go one is her good words and her good talks.
Oh yeah, we are Virgin Islanders than will just accept anything that is thrown at us.
WE NEED TO WAKE UP PEOPLE.
