Department of Education Receives Funding

Oct. 11, 2007 – The Virgin Islands Department of Education has received funding from the United States Department of Education for the Improving Literacy through School Libraries program in the amount of $35,694, according to a press release from Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen
This grant period runs from Oct. 1, 2007 through Sept. 30, 2008. LSL funding will be used to increase library collections at all levels, with an emphasis on increasing the number of titles that reflect Caribbean culture.
