STD/HIV/TB Clinics Will Close Three Days for Conference

Oct. 3, 2007 – The STD/HIV/TB clinics at Charles Harwood Medical Complex on St. Croix and Knud Hansen Complex (Old Municipal Hospital) on St. Thomas will be closed Oct. 15-17, for staff to attend a Caribbean region conference on HIV/AIDS, according to a press release from the V.I. Department of Health.
The conference, entitled "Strengthening the National AIDS Reponses in Partnerships with Youth Programming," will be held at Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Beach Resort, bringing together member organizations dealing with HIV/AIDS from 35 countries and territories throughout the Caribbean.
Walk-in clients should go to the East End Medical Center in the St. Thomas-St. John District and to the Frederiksted Health Center in the St. Croix district for STD and HIV services. All emergencies should be referred to the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center or Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. Commissioner of Health Vivian I. Ebbesen-Fludd apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause clients.
