Sam Shepard's 'Buried Child' at Pistarckle Theater

Oct. 1, 2007 – Pistarckle Theater will open its 17th season with a Pulitzer Prize-winning play on Thursday, Oct. 18. Frank Bartolucci will direct "Buried Child" by Sam Shepard. This is an intriguing drama about a dysfunctional American family harboring a terrible secret. It is a dark comedy, but it addresses the very serious topic of incest and the after-effects with which the family must deal.
After each performance of the play, Pistarckle Theater will host an open-mic night to hold a discussion about these topics. Social workers and volunteers from the community have shown support by offering their time to lead these discussions.
Please show your support to the actors, leaders of the open discussion and theater by attending any of the performances.
All performances for "Buried Child" are pay as you can. They will be held on Oct. 18-20, 26 and 27, at 8 p.m.; Nov. 2, at 8 p.m.; and Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
