Toyota Wall2Wall Triathlon Will Feature Youth Race

Sept. 14, 2007 – The Toyota Wall2Wall Triathlon will feature a youth race during the Sunday, Sept. 23 event. The purpose of the race is to get young athletes introduced to the sport of triathlon, which includes swimming, biking and running. There are many excellent junior competitors in individual sports, and this short course race will give them the opportunity to try the combination of the three.
The day will start at Spratnet Café on the North Shore Road with a quarter-mile swim, followed by a 5-mile bike ride and then finish with a 1.5-mile run. Each young racer will need a bike helmet and a bicycle, as well as a parent or guardian to sign a waiver form.
Entry forms can be picked up at Stamina Sports located at 4A Golden Grove (in the old Bingo Building), or competitors may sign up on race morning between 6-6:45 a.m., before the 7 a.m. start.
