Liza Margolis Appointed Coordinator of Special Events

Sept. 14, 2007 – Liza Margolis has been appointed coordinator of special events at the University of the Virgin Islands. In her new position, Margolis will serve as host of “The Afternoon Mix,” a radio talk show jointly produced by the Ackley Media Group and UVI. The broadcast airs at 4 p.m., on Radio One, WVWI 1000-AM, weekdays.
Margolis reports to the vice president for Institutional Advancement, Joseph Boschulte. She will provide administrative assistance in the planning of official university special events and will recommend creative events that can enhance its public image.
“I’m delighted to be able to serve the university in this capacity,” Margolis said. “I look forward to augmenting UVI’s community engagement effort by planning productive events that all segments of our community will enjoy.”
A graduate of Sts. Peter and Paul School on St. Thomas, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University at Long Beach. She served as creative production director at Moxie Marketing on St. Thomas for more than eight years and had also worked as an account executive at the Ackley Media Group and at The Buzz radio station. An active Red Cross volunteer, she is a third-term first vice president of The Ad Club and has served on the board of directors of the St. Thomas Synagogue.
