Police Arrest Suspect in July 17 Homicide

Aug. 21, 2007 — Police arrested Michael Joseph, a 23-year-old Estate White Bay resident, early Tuesday morning for the murder of 17- year-old Jeremy Adams and the attempted murder of a 21-year-old St. Croix resident.
Joseph was arrested without incident at his home on a warrant signed by Superior Court Judge Julio Brady, according to a news release from the V.I. Police Department issued Tuesday night. Joseph is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, first-degree assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of ammunition and unauthorized use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.
Adams’ murder occurred in the early morning hours of July 13 in the Walter I.M. Hodge housing community. He sustained gunshot wounds to the back and head, and was motionless when police arrived on the scene, the release said. Adams was pronounced dead at 1:37 a.m.
The second victim in the same incident, a 21 year-old Walter I.M. Hodge housing community resident, was shot multiple times in the abdominal area. He survived.
