What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Aug. 21, 2007 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26. This Sunday we will feature music by the Decemberists, Terri Hendrix, Charlie Wood and the New Memphis Underground, Marie Knight, the Searchers and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "The Crane Wife" from contemporary acoustic rock band, the Decemberists. They are one of the most critically acclaimed new bands today and have a real original sound and approach to their music.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "The Spiritual Kind" from Terri Hendrix. An outstanding new CD from Terri produced by the legendary Texas musician and producer Lloyd Maines. It has lots of great guitar and harmonica, and great songwriting. Terri and Lloyd will be performing at Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas, on Jan. 23, 2008.
We play new music from Walt Wilkins and the Mystiqueros (also produced by Lloyd Maines), Charlie Wood and the New Memphis Underground, John Prine and Mac Wiseman, gospel great Marie Knight and more.
We include music from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Derek and the Dominoes, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, Jimi Hendrix, the Searchers, Etta James and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of songwriter Valerie Simpson and Chris Curtis of the Searchers, and we remember folk singer Lee Hays of the Weavers and New Orleans artist Rockin Dopsie on the anniversary of their deaths.
