Robert F. Scott Dies at 50

Aug. 15, 2007 – Former St. John resident Robert F. Scott, age 50, died of an apparent heart attack in Livermore, Calif. On Aug. 9.
He had lived on St. John from June 2002 to June 2005.
"He was a fabulous musician and had a great sense of humor," Michael Beason, a St. John resident and Scott's friend, said Tuesday. While on St. John, Scott played music with Beason as a member of the Iguanas. Beason said that he played saxophone, flute, harmonica, keyboards, and guitar as well as singing lead and high harmony.
He also played with Steve Simon's Jazz Jam with Ike Eichenberg, Koko and the Sunshine Band. He acted with the Epiphany Theater, playing El Gayo in "The Fantasticks," Bernard in "Feiffer's People" and Dionysus in "The Midlife Crisis of Dionysus" as well as many other roles.
Scott is survived by his wife, Terri; brother, John; and sister, Barbara.
Born in Tejunga, Calif., the son of Dorothy and Bill Scott, his father was famous as the voice of Bullwinkle the Moose and other cartoon characters.
After leaving St. John, he and his wife toured the country in their recreational vehicle. They visited Alaska, Oregon, Colorado as well as other places.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Beach Bar in Cruz Bay. It will be held in conjunction with Steve Simon's Jazz Jam. All are invited to attend.
