Botanical Garden Hosts Workshop on Storm Preparedness

Aug. 7, 2007 – St. George Village Botanical Garden will hold its monthly Grow & Learn series from 3-5 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 8.
Craig Karnitz and Carol Cramer-Burke will make a presentation on tropical storms and how best to prepare for them.
Karnitz is the observer for the National Weather Service on St. Croix. He will tell us how he assists the NWS and will discuss the hurricane hunters' role in monitoring storm disturbances. Cramer-Burke, a certified arborist and the director at the St. Croix Environmental Association, has been active with the Tree Education Program in the schools. She will discuss the potential effects of adverse weather on trees.
