Cancer Support V.I. Presents Yoga for Health

July 17, 2007 – Cancer Support VI announces the next free presentation by Amy Gurlea of the Jackson Wellness Center. She will speak on yoga for flexibility, overcoming fatigue and helping relieve the side effects of cancer treatment. This will be an experiential session, so attendees should wear loose fitting clothing.
The mission of Cancer Support VI is to provide support, education and information to people living with cancer and their families and friends. Cancer patients and anyone who has been affected by cancer are invited to join CSVI and Amy Gurlea at noon, on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Charlotte Kimelman Cancer Institute (CKCI); or at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Jackson Wellness Center at the MCM Center, Antilles School.
Upcoming lectures:
Sept. 5: Allen Buckingham, Tai Chi Master will lecture on "The Healing Energy of Tai Chi."
Oct. 3: Donna M. Philip, CKCI certified mastectomy fitter, will speak on prosthetics, wigs and apparel for women, men and children cancer survivors. You can even try them on!
Nov. 7: Dr. Derrick Grant, CKCI will lecture on clinical trials: how they work and how they can help cancer patients both during and after treatment
