Brief: Power Interruption Planned Thursday in Queens Quarter Area

June 26, 2007 — Electrical service will be interrupted to small sections of Estate Rattan, Sion Hill and Queens Quarter from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday for upgrades, according to a news release from the V.I. Water and Power Authority.
The work will effect customers on St. Croix Feeder No. 3 along the Island Center Road and in the vicinity of Queens Quarter. WAPA workers will upgrade an existing power line "from single phase to three phase for the purpose of load balancing and to prevent line loss in the area," the release said.
WAPA urges drivers to obey all traffic signs and use extreme caution when traveling in the areas where the work is being done. "WAPA thanks the community for their cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience," the release said.
