June 27, 2007 – The Beyond Visions Foundation will conduct a seminar on the rudimentary grassroots financial literacy program, The Fundamentals of Household Budgeting, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Florence Williams Library, on St. Croix.
The workshop includes Power Point presentations, record keeping and budget workbook materials, Microsoft Office Excel budget spreadsheet to input estimated monthly figures, a pie chart that automatically recalculates budget figures and percentages, and a amortization schedule that provides interest rates, payment schedules and other information for potential and current homeowners and credit card users. Support for this program is provided by FirstBank, VI Neighborhood Community Reinvestment Program.
