Yacht Haven Grande Hosts Summer Storytelling Events

June 21, 2007 – Yacht Haven Grande will launch a new series of summer storytelling events on Saturday, June 23. The new shopping and marina complex is working in conjunction with the St. Thomas/St. John School District to host the weekly activities. Planned for each Saturday, from 10 – 11:30 a.m., the books read will be geared to children ages 4-10 years-old, and the events will feature local celebrities including prominent politicians, citizens, radio and TV personalities, among others, reading books recommended by the school district. The first storyteller will be Eileen Jackson, "Ms J," from WSTA 1340 AM. Light snacks will be served and all children attending will be entered into a drawing for prizes.
"Yacht Haven Grande is a strong supporter of the community and we are proud to introduce this new educational program for local residents and visitors," said Alex Andrade, general manager of Yacht Haven Grande. "This program is just the beginning of a schedule of new and exciting activities and events that we will be unveiling at Yacht Haven Grande over the coming months."
