Hurricanes and Hotels

Dear Source:

Mr. Merwin’s concern that it will take business away from other hotels doesn’t float. With that logic, no new hotel should exist on St. Croix. The problem as I see it is a hurricane threat. What do you do with this floating hotel when a CAT 4 is on its way to St. Croix? It would end up as a downtown Frederiksted hotel! It would have to remain mobile to evade such a threat. At least with this floating hotel idea, the pier would get some use.
