Here is a list of summer camps and organized activities available for children or young people. Please send information on your camps and activities, to offer parents a variety of choices.
The Junior Firefighters Corps is sponsoring their annual Summer Sensation Summer Camp 2007. The camp serves children between the ages of 7 to 16 and will commence on June 18, ending on Aug. 4. The objectives of the camp are to provide campers with seven weeks of fun-filled activities to enjoy and also learn to associate with other campers in a friendly, safe and cooperative environment.
Activities will include going to the beach, field trips, guest speakers, sports day and academic classes. Classes will be given in language arts, math history and science. Strict health and safety measures will be enforced.
A free lunch and/or snack will be provided by the Department of Education, Special Nutrition Program. Applications can be picked up at all fire stations, the Fire Service main office in sub base and the Junior Firefighters Center in Bournefield. In order to reserve a space, a non-refundable fee of $170 must be paid by June 16.

The Virgin Islands Basketball Federation presents "Gimme the Rock" Basketball Camp. The camp will be organized by Community In Unity Inc. and is sponsored by the Law Enforcement Planning Commission (LEPC). It will run from June 25-29, at the Bertha B. Boschulte Middle School, on St. Thomas.
The free camp, which also includes lunch, is open to the first 100 girls and boys between the ages of 12-17 who sign up.
In addition to clinics for the improvement of basketball skills, presentations will be made on life skills. Registration forms can be obtained from the Election System Offices or the Boschulte School on St. Thomas.

The Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation will conduct a summer camp program on St. John during the summer of 2007. The camp will be held at the Oppenheimer Beach Facility from June 25-Aug. 3. Applications can be picked up at the Recreation Youth Facility Center.
The Department of Education Nutrition Program will provide lunch. The camp will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3 p.m., on Monday through Friday, at the Julius E. Sprauve School.
The 2007 application deadline date is Friday, May 25; the late application deadline is June 18.
