Summer Programs for Young People

Here is a list of summer camps and organized activities available for children or young people. Please send information on your camps and activities, to offer parents a variety of choices.

The Junior Firefighters Corps is sponsoring their annual Summer Sensation Summer Camp 2007. The camp serves children between the ages of 7 to 16 and will commence on June 18, ending on Aug. 4. The objectives of the camp are to provide campers with seven weeks of fun-filled activities to enjoy and also learn to associate with other campers in a friendly, safe and cooperative environment.
Activities will include going to the beach, field trips, guest speakers, sports day and academic classes. Classes will be given in language arts, math history and science. Strict health and safety measures will be enforced.
A free lunch and/or snack will be provided by the Department of Education, Special Nutrition Program. Applications can be picked up at all fire stations, the Fire Service main office in sub base and the Junior Firefighters Center in Bournefield. In order to reserve a space, a non-refundable fee of $170 must be paid by June 16.
