Carl Christopher Is Running for Delegate to the Constitutional Convention

Enunciation
May 22, 2007 – The main purpose of Carl Christopher's candidacy as a delegate to the Fifth Constitutional Convention is to represent the V.I. people harmoniously with other delegates: to plan, structure and write a Constitution that shares the highest vision, ideals, principles, and guidelines for all persons residing in the V.I. by nativity, birth, and commitment and enshrine this document to guide us to exercise our inalienable, natural, human rights for self-government, definition, determination, sovereignty, and to become the masters and mistresses of our own destiny, house and nation.
Preparation
The life and journey of Carl Christopher as a native born Virgin Islander with learning experiences and training from my parents, elders, teachers, mentors; with formal education as a college graduate; my social activism and business experiences for agricultural development, quality V.I. and Afrakan cultural educational values, and private sector economic development through real estate and construction industries; and my commitment to the need for spiritual growth through research and practice of arts and sciences of self-knowledge, martial arts and the total development of the human being; qualify me to participate as a delegate.
Opening
Remember the words of our late Honorable Governor Cyril Emanuel King: "But let us continue with the task of setting our house in order and building a better future for all the residents of the Virgin Islands."
Implementation
To conduct research on practical principles of constitutional laws, similar existing constitutions that reflect the unique condition of social, political, cultural, and economical conditions to better plan, design, develop and build a constitution to assist us to place our house in order and be the masters of our house:
¨ To define a collective identity of Virgin Islanders, our goals and objectives as a unified government.
¨ To positively change the present structure of our local government for equality of all people and not one dominated by particular people and interests.

Closing
An architect of the U.S. Constitution, the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, lived on St. Croix. Remember Hamilton's perspective on human rights: "The sacred rights of mankind are not rummaged for, among cold parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of divinity itself, and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power."
Carl Christopher…..A Loyal Delegate! Vote for Candidate No. 30 on June 12th, 2007.
