Army National Guard Pfc. Chazz J. Smith/St. Thomas
May 9, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army National Guard Pfc. Chazz J. Smith has graduated from the Petroleum Supply Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.
The course is designed to train students in receipt, storage, issue, shipping, and distribution of petroleum, oil and lubricant products used by the Army. Training included instruction in petroleum and water accounting; operating equipment associated with fuels and water distribution; fueling and de-fueling operations; and procedures on vehicles, aircraft and stationary equipment.
He is the son of Charles J. Smith and Lydia A. Stevens Smith of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Smith is a 2005 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.
Army Pvt. Tevry Castro/St. Croix
May 17, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army Pvt. Tevry Castro has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values. He received instruction and practice in physical fitness, basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Castro earned distinction as an honor graduate.
He is the son of Daysi Castro of Richmond, Christiansted, Virgin Islands.
The private is a 2006 graduate of Central High School, Kingshill, V.I
