Raising Funds for Kissee

Dear Source:
Ordinarily, I wouldn't write a second letter about the fund-raising effort for little Kissee Shania Richards, but the response from the people of our territory has been nothing short of amazing. I want everyone to be aware of the ongoing outpouring of support for this beautiful child.
To date, we have collected more than $17,000 and there are pledges that are yet uncollected that bring that total to more than $25,000. Both Carambola and the Palms Hotels have pledged accommodations for Dr. Goldwasser and his team of surgeons should they determine that surgery is the best course of action at this time. Gregory Caliste and his staff at Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital have given permission for any necessary surgery to be performed at their facility.
While we often focus on the challenges of life in paradise, this is one of those events that demonstrates quite clearly that we live among people who not only care, but who are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to support our fellow Virgin Islanders.
On behalf of Paradise Radio and the Roger W. Morgan Foundation, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our neighbors who have rallied behind a child in need.
