Rotary Golf Classic A Huge Success

April 3, 2007 — The Rotary Golf Classic 2007, held Sunday at Carambola Golf Club, was once again a great success with 26 teams competing for fabulous prizes and bragging rights.
The Rotary Golf Classic is an annual charity tournament jointly held by the Rotary Club of St. Croix and Rotary Club of St. Croix MidIsle. One of the clubs' major fundraisers, all proceeds go towards Rotary’s community service projects on St.Croix and internationally.
Tournament Results:
First Low Net: Roy Megnin, Wayne Nance, Steve Lemond and Wes Smith
First Low Gross: Ken Peets, Kelly Johnson, Ed Gittens, and Winston Sinanan
Second Low Net: Turner St. Croix team of Darrel Ferguson, Joe Zeppuher, Rey Perez, and Rey Perez III
Third Low Net: Innovative team of Mike Cumbermack, Greg Manigault, Alfred Anduze, and Ray Berkely
Forth Low Net: Danish West Indies team of Sue Bryd, Mike Wells, Jim White, and Gail White
Fifth Low Net: Alliance Management team of Mike Brooks, Earl Smalls, Vince Anderson and Murph
West Indies Corp team came in with the highest gross; Janice French, Howard French, Julie Peterson, and Karylyn Parson
Other prizes went to:
Closest to hole Men: Roy Megnin
Closest to hole Women: Claudia Carrington
Straightest Drive Men: David Campbell
Straightest Drive Ladies: Linda Surdyke
Long Drive Contest winner: Alex Pelovitz
Putting contest winner: Rey Perez III
Longest Putt: Lew Lester Jr.
According to a release from the clubs, all winners received prizes donated by the generous businesses of the St.Croix community. The committee also thanked all players and sponsors for their support of the tournament and the Rotary Clubs of St.Croix and MidIsle.
