Brief: 'Voices from Beyond the Graves' Presentation Set for Sunday Evening

March 16, 2007 — A presentation about ongoing burial-archaeological research on St. Croix will take place Sunday evening.
The V.I. State Historic Preservation Office and Pia Bennike of the University of Copenhagen will host a presentation and discussion of the U.S. Virgin Islands-Danish Project, which will focus on the common history between them, according to an announcement from the office of Robert S. Mathes, commissioner-designee of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources.
Bennike will be present for discussion of the ongoing burial-archaeological research in St. Croix and projected burial excavations at the Punch Archaeological Site and the Estate St. George Botanical Garden. The department encourages community input and participation in this discussion, the announcement said. The presentation will be held at Estate St. George Botanical Garden Great Hall, St. Croix, at 6 p.m. Sunday.
