UVI Trustees to Meet on St. Thomas Campus

March 6, 2007 – The University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees will hold its quarterly meeting at 9 a.m., on Saturday, March 17, at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas campus. It will be the first board meeting of the year. The meeting will convene with regular session agenda items. President LaVerne E. Ragster will give the President's Report, followed by the Chairman's Comments by Board Chairman Dr. Auguste E. Rimpel Jr., and then the board will discuss items that require action.
Among the agenda items the board is being asked to approve is a proposed "Policy on Privacy, Public Access and Freedom of Information." The board will also vote on the university's fiscal year 2008 appropriation request.
Items up for discussion include UVI's key performance indicators, which include enrollment, financials, research and development. Information on the selection process for UVI's peer institutions, which are used for comparisons, will also be discussed. The UVI Board of Trustees last met on Nov. 11 on the St. Croix campus.
