Memorial Service to Be Held for Dorothy R. Grey

Feb. 28, 2007 – Dorothy “Dottie” R. Grey, a long time St. Thomas resident, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, Feb. 23. Dottie will be missed and always remembered by her many friends for her kind heart, fierce loyalty, quick wit and passion for animals, particularly the feline persuasion. The most heartbroken of all are the hundreds and hundreds of cats that Dottie rescued, had patched up, found loving homes for, had spayed and neutered and fed every day. Dottie did not simply love cats; she was completely devoted to them. Dottie was a passionate feral cat activist and contributor to the Humane Society of St. Thomas. At the Humane Society she established a Feline Spay-Neuter Program.
A memorial service will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., on Monday, March 12, at Robert’s American Grille at the Elysian Hotel. For those who wish, a collection will be made at the service to benefit The Humane Society.
