Registration for Kindergarten Begins March 5

Feb. 26, 2007 – Registration for kindergarten age children who are intending to attend public school for the 2007-2008 school year will be held from March 5 through June 26. Parents are asked to bring their children between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, to the Office of Pupil Personnel Services, located at the Theodora Dunbavin Complex in La Grande Princesse, according to a press release from Acting Insular Superintendent of Schools for St. Croix, Jewel Ross-Brathwaite. All students being registered for kindergarten must be five years of age by Dec. 31, 2007.
Even if the child is not yet five years old, the registration process begins now. The documents required are: child's original birth certificate, Virgin Islands immunization card, health clearance form from the Charles Harwood Clinic, Social Security card, proof of physical address (such as a driver's license or WAPA bill) and an affidavit of legal guardianship if the student does not reside with parent(s).
For additional information, call the Office of Pupil Personnel Services at 692-9671.
