Beating Victim Found Dead in Parking Lot Sunday Night

Feb. 26, 2007 — Police are seeking information from the community about the beating death of a 34-year-old Bovoni man Sunday night.
The body of Joseph Vanholten was found covered with a sheet when police arrived at the parking lot of the Lima Laundromat about 8:06 p.m. Sunday.
Police have no idea who covered Vanholten with a sheet, spokeswoman Shawna Richards said Monday afternoon. Another police source said earlier Monday, "Someone must have seen what happened."
This is the territory's second homicide in as many days, and the territory's seventh of the year. On Saturday, Larry Rodriguez, 25, was shot in the vicinity of Building 32 at the Mutual Homes housing community in Estate Grove Place.
Police are asking that "anyone with information that can help piece together what happened" Sunday night call emergency 911 or the Major Crime Hot Line at 715-5544, or 715-5554 or 715-5546, Richards said.
