Brief: Virgin Islands' Presence Felt at NBA All-Star Game

Feb. 19, 2007 — The NBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas over the weekend had a couple of Virgin Islands touches, with St. Croix's Tim Duncan making his ninth appearance in the game and radio personality Tom Joyner announcing plans for a cruise to stop at the territory, a news release said.
Duncan's NBA All-Star West team dominated the East in a 153-132 victory. Duncan finished with four points, five rebounds and four assists.
The weekend festivities also include the Omega Fraternity Lifetime Achievement Awards Luncheon. Honorees included Joyner, Steve Harvey, Ricky Smiley, Joe Tory, Michael Jordan, John Sally and other sports and entertainment personalities. According to a news release from Infiniti Productions International, Joyner mentioned plans to bring his annual Fantastic Voyage cruise to the territory. The cruise raises funds for historically black colleges and the Tom Joyner Foundation, the news release said.
