Military News of Virgin Islanders – February 2007

Air Force Airman 1st Class Jean Michael J. Sibilly/St. Thomas
Feb. 1, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Air Force Airman 1st Class Jean Michael J. Sibilly has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Linda Sibilly of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Sibilly is a 2006 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.
Air Force Airman Eric M. Prince/St. Thomas
Feb. 1, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Air Force Airman Eric M. Prince has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches; and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Cecilia Tyson-Prince of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Army National Guard Pfc. Renee O. Thomas/St. Thomas
Feb. 1, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army National Guard Pfc. Renee O. Thomas has graduated from the Unit Supply Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at the Quartermaster Battalion, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.
The course is designed to train students to receive, inspect, segregate, store, inventory, issue, deliver and turn-in organizational and installation supplies and equipment; maintain automated supply systems for accountability with use of unit computers; and issue and receipt of small arms, and secure and control weapons and ammunition supplies.
She is the daughter of Henry T. Thomas of St. Joseph and Rosendahl, and Carlene V. Ritter of Annas Retreat, both of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Thomas is a 2004 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.
Army National Guard Pfc. Lennox A. Richmond/St. Croix
Feb. 5, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army National Guard Pfc. Lennox A. Richmond has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and physical fitness. He received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Richmond is the son of Janita Richmond of La Grande Princesse, Christiansted, Virgin Islands, and brother of Desmond Richmond of Semoran Park Drive, Winter Park, Fla.
Richmond graduated in 2003 from St. Croix Central High School, Kingshill, V.I., and received an associate degree in 2005 from ITT Technical Institute, Springfield, Va.

Feb. 8, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army National Guard Pfc. Chazz J. Smith has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky.
During the nine-week training period, the soldier received training in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship, bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises. The private was also instructed in armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions and core values.
Smith is the son of Charles and Lydia Smith of Bonne Resolution, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
Smith is a 2005 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas.
Army Staff Sgt. Jane E. William/St. Croix
Feb. 10, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army Staff Sgt. Jane E. William has arrived for duty at Fort Belvoir, Fairfax, Va.
William, a logistics supervisor with 12 years of military service, is
assigned to the Rapid Equipping Force.
She is the daughter of Michael S. William of Hannah's Rest, Frederiksted, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Ivy E. Nesbitt of Williams Delight, Christiansted, U.S.V.I.
The sergeant is a 1992 graduate of St. Croix Central High School, Christiansted.
Army Spec. Joel E. Sweeney/St. Croix
Feb. 13, 2007 (Army & Air Force Hometown News) – Army Spec. Joel E. Sweeney has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction in drill and ceremonies, rifle marksmanship, weapons, map reading, tactics, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice and physical fitness. He also studied first aid, Army history, core values and traditions, and special training in human relations.
He is the son of Errol F. Sweeney of Kingshill, St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and Sonia B. Sweeney of Landmark Way, Austell, Ga. His wife, Andreager, is the daughter of James E. and Gwenevette Rush of Andrews, S.C.
Sweeney graduated in 1998 from Central High School, St. Croix, and received a bachelor's degree in 2003 from Benedict College, Columbia, S.C.
