Alert: WAPA to Install Water Pipeline Along Smith Bay Road

Oct. 12, 2006 Beginning Monday, the V.I. Water and Power Authority will be installing a 12-inch potable water mainline along Smith Bay Road from the Coki Point entrance to the Sugar Bay Resort entrance.
Crews from WAPA contractor E.D. Plumbing will work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday until mid-January, while the pipe line is installed, tested, and placed into service, and the road repaved and restored to its original condition.
During the construction period, one lane along the pipeline route will be closed to vehicular traffic. Motorists are asked to obey all traffic restrictions in the work area.
WAPA customers from the top of Emerald Hill to Sugar Bay and to the Coki Point entrance wanting water service from the Smith Bay Road pipeline should apply at the St. Thomas Customer Service Office or call 774-3552 for more information.
