Rotary Club Gives J.J. Alfred Scholarship

June 5, 2006 – The Rotary Club of St. John announced this year's scholarship award winner. This year's applicants for the Javon Jade Alfred Scholarship were all talented St. John graduating seniors.
Those who qualified as finalists for the scholarship are: Jaurell Harley, Sara Garza, Dennis Powell, Michael Gibney, Kershen Bissette and Akeel Thomas. The award has been given to Kershen Bissette.
He is graduating from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School and has been accepted to the School of Business at the University of New Haven where he plans to pursue a degree in business administration. He also hopes to attend law school and eventually become a corporate lawyer, return to the Virgin Islands and help construct a public high school on St. John.
The Rotary Club congratulates Kershen Bissette for all of his achievements and wishes him the best in his future.
