Town Hall Meetings Scheduled to Discuss Postal, Customs Issues

May 22, 2006 – Delegate Donna M. Christensen said Monday that she will be conducting town hall meetings next week to discuss several items of concern to the territory in regards to the delivery of mail, delayed mail, the holding and opening of packages by the Customs Bureau and the late arrivals of subscription periodicals. Post Office and Customs officials will be in attendance.
The schedule is as follows:
St. John — from 6 to 8 p.m. May 30 at the Legislature Building, Cruz Bay.
St. Thomas — from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 31 at the Holiday Inn Hotel Conference Center.
St. Croix — 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 1 at the Department of Education Curriculum Center at King's Hill.
Residents on all three islands will have the opportunity to give testimony and ask questions of the federal officials expected to be in attendance a release from the delegate's office said.
"I hope everyone who has a concern will come out so that we can work together to solve these issues of service," Christensen said
