May 19, 2006 – Students of the Joseph Sibilly Elementary School celebrate social studies with an exhibit titled "History Program Through Art," which is a tribute to Virgin Islands history and culture at the V.I. Native Arts and Crafts Cooperative located on Tolbod Gade (across from the Vendors Plaza west), according to Principal Dr. Dora Hill.
"The exhibit is a compilation of replicas of V.I. historical buildings created by one of our sixth grade classes here at Sibilly Elementary," said Dr. Hill. "Ms. Eslyn Gibbons, the sixth grade teacher, worked diligently with the students in creating the works that received second place billing in the elementary division at the recent District Social Studies Fair. The entire Sibilly family congratulates Ms. Gibbons and her class on this very important recognition.
"I encourage members of the community to visit the Cooperative to look at the art work on display by our students as well as to support the efforts of the Committee to Revive Our Culture," she added.
