Calabash Technologies Unveils 'World Explorer' at Business After Hours

MAY 15, 2006 – Calabash Technologies, a V.I. technology and multimedia company, hosts this week's Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours on Thursday at Holiday Inn Windward Passage Hotel at 5:30 p.m.
Calabash Technologies' World Explorer is a revolutionary, hand-held Global Positioning System device, which seamlessly unites an unprecedented amount of travel information with state-of-the-art technology.
Calabash founder and former Microsoft program manager Joseph K. Croney said, "Using the Calabash World Explorer will be like having a local guide at your side providing an authentic experience of life in the U.S. Virgin Islands."
The device includes basic information, like where to eat and shop on the islands, in addition to GPS directions to the local businesses and content about local culture through text, pictures, video and audio clips, he said.
The Calabash team will be on hand at Thursday's event to meet with hoteliers, businesses, members of the press and the general community. There will be door prizes, hors d'oeuvres, the famous Chamber $2 bar, a 50/50 raffle and more.
