Lance Kinney to Speak at Advertising Club Luncheon

April 4, 2006 – The Advertising Club of the Virgin Islands' professional luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 13, at noon at Palms Court Harbourview Hotel on St. Thomas. Lance Kinney, Ph.D., a specialist in event sponsorship, is the special guest speaker. Non-profit organizations, schools, and businesses seeking to maximize their promotions by sponsoring events will be benefit from hearing Kinney speak.
Kinney is the associate professor of advertising and public relations at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He has researched how brands use sports and other events to build brand equity. He will discuss event sponsorship strategies and tactics, including how companies can select which events to sponsor, how to evaluate the effectiveness of sponsorship, using advertising to support the sponsorship investment, and how to use events to reward current employees and develop customer relationships, according to a press release from the Advertising Club.
Kinney has been an ad agency account executive with a client firm, an account executive with a J. Walter Thompson subsidiary. His research has appeared in the "Journal of Sport Marketing," "Psychology and Marketing," "Journal of Promotion Management" and "The International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship."
Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members. The reservation deadline is April 10.
