As a taxpayer I am incensed that the legislature would give any money to this carnival committee which has insulted us all with their arrogance and secretiveness as to the expenditure of public money in the past. It is a shame that the Governor and most of the senators do not have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to this bunch. St Croix and St John have been very open about where the money goes while St Thomas stonewalls the government (and the people). I say "give them what they give us: exactly nothing, only do it nicely without the attitude". Is there no one in control of the government? Oh, I forgot. And we don't need a CFO?
