Brief: Tax Refunds Being Processed

March 28, 2006 – The V.I. Bureau of Internal Revenue has begun processing 2005 tax refunds.
So far $22.7 million in refunds has been paid out by the Finance Department, a release from Government House Tuesday night said.
That amount covered 9,710 returns, the release said.
IRB Director Louis M. Willis asked that taxpayers not call his offices to asked about refunds. "This allows the staff to dedicate their efforts to the processing of income tax returns," he said.
April 18 is the due date for filing returns, the release said.
